Ericsson US Branch Data Breach
Ericsson’s US branch released a data breach notification letter disclosing unauthorized access to a service provider’s systems that was detected in April of last year.
Immediately following the incident, the telecom provider’s service partner amped up its security measures and launched an investigation into the incident with the help of cybersecurity specialists. The investigation and analysis concluded at the end of last month, revealing that some of the service provider’s files may have been accessed, compromising a varying degree of personal information per individual.
Personal information that may have been compromised includes full names, SSNs, birth dates, government-issued ID numbers, financial information, medical information, and more. Affected individuals are being offered free credit monitoring services for 1 year.

Chinese Government-backed Hackers Target FBI
A cyber incident targeting internal FBI networks is believed to have been carried out by Chinese government affiliated hackers.
Since investigation is just beginning, not many details are known about the scope of the attack. It is known, however, that the targeted network holds information relating to domestic surveillance orders.

One of the largest hacker forums in the world, LeakBase, has been seized by the United States DOJ.
The popular forum was used by it’s 100,000+ users to sell stolen data, which has all been secured by the DOJ and is being preserved for evidence in their investigation.
