Email to our customers on April 30, 2020

That’s the question our state, country and indeed the world is asking right now – when and how can we get back to some sort of normal work and lifestyle routine?

We don’t have that answer. The state of Wisconsin did, however, identify the gating criteria by which they will determine the pace of reopening. On Monday, Governor Evers announced an additional loosening of restrictions set to begin today.

Your Bounce Back?

We have begun conversations with a few of our customers regarding their own plans about returning to the workplace as restrictions are gradually released for non-essential businesses and operations.

What kinds of discussions are you having internally with your teams?

  • How are employees adapting to working at home?
  • Do you see a number of them continuing to work at home when restrictions are lifted?
  • Will you bring staff back as soon as allowed or stage their return based on operational need?
  • Has your team consolidated their use of meeting and communication platforms?
  • Longer term, do you think you may reduce your physical office footprint?
  • Need some deeper thought starters? Here are some views from Harvard B-School.

Our Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) will be contacting you in the coming weeks to get a sense of your plans so we can be fully prepared to support you in that endeavor. Similarly, feel free to contact your SAM to initiate that conversation if you are ready now.

Back on Track?

We are currently booking projects out into June and July. If there are projects you would like to complete by early to mid-summer, now is the time to lock in those projects.

Some customers have understandably postponed their planned projects to preserve cash until there is more certainty about ramping up the economy.

If cash flow is dictating the timing of your projects, we have a strong financing partner in Great America Financial Services. They work in this space, have a rapid approval process and can provide you the cash financing today to get your project started sooner. Ask your SAM for more information.

Stop and Think!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we’ll say it again – cybersecurity remains a high priority for most organizations. In our last email, we discussed the dramatic rise and increasing sophistication of phishing attacks against companies.

IBM Security and Morning Consult recently released a new study with some alarming statistics about the level of cyberattacks in early April coinciding with the government’s financial relief programs to businesses and consumers. If you need or desire to keep much of your workforce working from home in the future, effective cybersecurity is a prerequisite.

As the title above suggests, awareness training for your team should be one of the first places to start:

  • Ask your staff to view the 20-minute video series on security awareness training in QuickHelp™.
  • Watch this 25-minute training video our CTO, Kris Cears, created specifically to train your employees on how to spot Phishing Emails.
  • Recommend your employees take this free self-security assessment offered by one of our security partners. It takes about 20 minutes but is a real eye-opener that covers both their work habits and home environment.

Your SAM can set up access to a free 45-day trial of QuickHelp and discuss additional security layers that you should begin to consider. A Security Risk Assessment may be a good start.
