Clackamas Community College Class-Action
Clackamas Community College in Portland, OR is being faced with a class-action lawsuit related to a data breach that occurred in October of last year. There are 2 other lawsuits filed against the school, but they are likely to be consolidated into one.
While the incident happened in October, the school did not begin notifying affected individuals until January of this year. This late data breach notification is being cited in the lawsuit along with claims that the college stored students’ personal information in an unencrypted, internet-accessible environment, which left this sensitive information vulnerable and allowed the breach to happen.
