A Cyberattack That Stranded US Drivers
A cyberattack on US vehicle breathalyzer company Intoxalock experienced a data breach earlier this month, causing downtime as the company “temporarily paused” some of its systems as a precautionary measure while the matter is being investigated.
The calibration service for Intoxalock devices was affected by the attack. The company’s devices require calibration every few months, and without the ability to perform calibrations, many users whose devices need calibration were unable to start their vehicles, leaving them stranded.
