Polymarket Confirms Breach; $3M Confirmed Loss
Polymarket, the world’s largest decentralized prediction market, has been targeted by hackers exploiting a third-party dependency. At least $3 million has been confirmed lost after attackers leveraged malicious script to trick users into signing unauthorized transactions.
Polymarket has said that have contained the breach and has told users they will be refunded in full.

DraftKings Hacker 'Snoopy' Gets 18 Months in Prison
Nathan Austad, a 21-year old from Minnesota, was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison after being found guilty of a credential stuffing attack that compromised nearly 60,000 DraftKings accounts, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses.
Austed, known by his online alias ‘Snoopy,’ was also ordered to pay $1.3 million in restitution after he and co-conspirators launched the attack against DraftKings in November of 2022.
Approximately $600,000 was stolen in funds from 60,000 accounts, with access to many of the compromised accounts sold through cybercriminal marketplaces.

Shop App Abused in Phishing Attacks
Threat actors are adding fake purchase receipts in Shop, the order-tracking app from Shopify, users’ order histories, tricking them into giving over sensitive data or installing remote access software.
Shop has been downloaded over 50 million times on Google Play, with 7 million ratings in Apple’s App Store, and is a favorite digital shopping assistant in North America.
Scammers are inserting fake orders that appear next to legitimate ones, impersonating major consumer brands like Norton, McAfee, Apple, and PayPal. Using social engineering, fraudsters convince victims to disclose credentials, payment details or even download software to their personal devices.
