By now, there’s a big change you may have heard of Salt Typhoon, a hacking group that has been active since 2020 and has carried out various attacks against the US and globally, while reportedly being sponsored by China.
Earlier this year, reports began emerging of a cyberattack on internet service providers involving Salt Typhoon gaining access to eight or more telecommunications companies systems. This incident is now believed to have been going on for anywhere from 1 to 2 years, with Salt Typhoon still having access to various systems. Even with constant work to end the unauthorized access, the US Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency, has expressed how difficult it is to know when all hackers who still have access will finally be completely kicked out of the systems.
Some of the well-known telecommunications companies who have been breached by Salt Typhoon include Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Read the link below to find out what you need to know.
