AI Pause at Meta
After a supply chain attack revealed AI industry secrets, Meta is halting its collaboration with AI startup Mercor.
This suspension comes after the LiteLLM supply chain attack resulted in a class action lawsuit and investigations at popular AI development companies OpenAI and Anthropic. This attack may have resulted in hackers gaining blueprints for the most popular AI models, along with personal data and other information. Meta’s partner Mercor creates training datasets for AI companies like these, and their information relating to how these powerful AI models are trained was exposed during this attack.

Telehealth Social Engineering
Popular telehealth company Hims & Hers has disclosed that it suffered a “sophisticated social engineering attack” earlier this year.
The attacker gained entrance to the brand’s third-part customer service platform, allowing access to customer service tickets. This incident, thankfully, did not give the attacker access to medical records or communications with providers. Compromised information is mostly limited to names and email addresses, according to Hims & Hers.
The company is reviewing its security measures to ensure another incident like this does not happen again.

The social media platform also claims that the BrowserGate report is a smear campaign put together by an extension developer who lost a court battle against LinkedIn in Germany for “scraping and other violations.”
