DENVER – January 30, 2019 – Platte River Networks, a Denver based leading managed IT services and cloud provider, is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients of the Denver Scholarship Foundation’s Women in Technology (WIT) Scholarship. The WIT Scholarship recipients were recently honored at the Denver Scholarship Foundation’s Gathering of Gratitude.

“We are so proud and honored to provide our WIT scholarship to these amazing and deserving young women,” stated David DeCamillis, VP of Sales and Marketing at Platte River Networks and co-founder of the WIT Scholarship. “We created this scholarship six years ago in order to help motivate more young women to pursue degrees in the STEM fields. Through the help of the Denver Scholarship Foundation and the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce we were able to provide a record number of scholarships this year.”

The 2019 WIT Scholarship recipients included four young women who graduated from a Denver Public High School and are attending a two-year or four-year Colorado college or university pursuing a degree in a STEM field. One of the winners, Lydia Wandamo, graduated from Green Valley Ranch High School and is majoring in Game Development with a double minor in Japanese and Emergent Digital Practices at the University of Denver.

“I don’t even have words for how grateful I am to be receiving this scholarship,” said WIT Scholar Lydia Wandamo. “I had always been the kid who preferred math and science over any other class. This scholarship will be a tremendous help of cutting down the costs of my loans and allow me to take some time off from working and give me more time to study.”
