Information security – think of it like a cake.
Cakes come in all shapes and sizes. Some people prefer chocolate, some vanilla. Regardless, most cakes need some key and shared ingredients to make it on to your plate: a pan, oven, butter, flour, baking powder, eggs, probably sugar. Once you have the basics down, the possibilities are endless – you can add flavors, colors, frosting, decorations. The list goes on.
The same can be said of your company’s approach to information security. Every company, large or small, needs some basic tools and a handful of measures and best practices that, at a minimum, ensure you are protected. After that, the sky is the limit.
Watch this blog over the next few weeks as I outline a three-part series of steps to address security measures: critical, standard and advanced.
I promise to keep the writing from being overly technical. Rather I’ll offer a series of informative bits that can guide you in building a cohesive security plan and strategy for your organization.
Taking the measures explained in the coming blog posts will undoubtedly bolster the information security at your organization. Keep in mind that the more elements you incorporate, the more secure you will be (and the better your cake will be!) or the greater chance you will have at winning the bake-off. We can work together to make it harder for hackers to get your data and more difficult for your employees to divulge it unwittingly.
