Employee Spotlight: Shannon O’Brien

This month, we get to know Shannon O’Brien, our Administrative Coordinator here at Platte River Networks! She has been with us for 6 months and is in charge of shipping and receiving products as well as taking care of office duties. Prior to joining PRN, Shannon received a B.A. in criminology/criminal justice and a B.A. in Archeology. She is currently working on her Masters in Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation. One of her childhood aspirations was to actually be a criminal profiler for the FBI. She previously worked as an administrative assistant for a food brokerage firm and was a General Merchandise Manager for King Soopers.

The best part about working at PRN, according to Shannon, is that she gets to learn a little bit more about the IT world. Although, she has built her own computer in the past and has always been the one to troubleshoot for her coworkers in past jobs.

Shannon was born in Texas, but lived in Northern Colorado most of her life. She has a cat named Ophelia, and she is happiest when she is with her boyfriend, Jesse. She enjoys playing video games, board games, D&D, painting, and music. In fact, if she could be anything, she would love to be a professional streamer. Some interesting facts about Shannon is that she can read French at a beginner level, she played viola for 10 years, and her brother is her best friend. The person she most admires is Mark Fischbach (If you don’t know he’s a well-known YouTuber!)

Shannon’s favorite movie is Forest Gump (A classic!), and her favorite book is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

We love having Shannon on our team and enjoyed getting to learn a little bit more about her!
