This month, we get to know Sean Staggs, a shared services coordinator at Platte River Networks. Sean has been with us for almost 6 months and he is responsible for managing communications for the Shared Services team, hosting and presenting welcome calls, designing internal communication materials, and managing the service board. The thing he loves most about his job is that it is a blend of all his past experiences. While he has a strong IT background, his passion has always been people. His current position enables him to merge these two areas.
Prior to PRN, Sean received his Bachelor’s in Film Production from Watkins Film School. He has worked as a video content producer and a Software Packaging Engineer for Endpoint Management. He also was a touring comedian and house comic at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville. His time as a comic led to lots of interesting stories.
Originally, Sean is from South Bend, outside of Chicago. He grew up in Nashville and then moved to Denver for work a couple of years ago. He has a puggle named Peach, and a Husky mix named Cherry, and an irritable cat name Mew. (What cat isn’t irritable, am I right?) He is happiest when he is traveling and trying new foods with his wife and friends. He also enjoys reading nonfiction, (his favorite book is On the Origin of Species by Darwin), drinking mezcal, playing classic Nintendo games, and hiking.
Sean’s favorite superhero is Bill Nye the Science Guy. He wanted to be an astronaut as a child until he learned how much math was involved. And he has always thought that Jack Black had the most entertaining life and career.
A fun fact about Sean’s family is that his great-great grandfather R.E. Winsett was a prolific Gospel songwriter, and won the very first Dove Award.
We are happy to have Sean as a part of the Platte River Team and appreciate him sharing a little bit about himself!
