Employee Spotlight: Romelia Serna

This month, we learn a little more about Romelia Serna, a Premium Plus Technician here at Platte River Networks. Romelia has been with us for 8 months and is the main IT resource for Noa Brands. She enjoys educating users on the software and machines that they use on a daily basis. She likes being able to pass her knowledge to users. For the past 4 years, Romelia has worked in different fields of IT and is close to completing her Bachelor’s in Computer Science.  She is also a certified nursing assistant and has a lot of experience working with people from all walks of life and experience working in fast-paced environments.

Romelia is originally from El Paso Texas. Her favorite book is the Lord of the Rings trilogy, her favorite movie is Forest Gump, and her favorite superhero is Captain America. Her daughter is the person she admires the most and is happiest when they are doing outdoor activities together. Her hobbies include fishing, hiking, and snowboarding, basically anything outdoors! When she was younger, Romelia and her brother were involved in a lot of sports, and she is a very competitive person. Romelia owns two axolotl’s, which are an endangered type of salamander. (How unique!)

If Romelia could be anyone else she would be an astronaut. As a child, she actually wanted to be a scientist.

Romelia’s favorite motto is, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi.

We are fortunate to have Romelia on the Platte River Team!
