This month, we get to know Marco Spires, a Systems Technician here at Platte River Networks. Marco has been with us for a little over 9 months and works the help desk as well as on-site visits, helping clients with various issues. He loves the amount of technology he gets to get his hands on. He looks back and enjoys how much he has learned in just a short amount of time.
Prior to working at PRN, Marco was in the army for several years and has also worked in various IT positions. He was also once a bouncer on the weekends when he lived in Seoul for two years.
Originally, Marco is from a small town in Germany called Momlingen but he has lived all over. All his family still lives in Germany while Marco and his brother are in the states. Marco was happiest when he was in Germany with his family and friends, and plans to retire and move back to Germany. In fact, one of his childhood aspirations and current aspirations would be to own a restaurant/guest house in Germany.
Marco’s favorite movie is 14th Warrior and his favorite book is Gulliver’s Travels or the Count of Monte Cristo. He enjoys painting, drawing, working out, and playing basketball. The person he admires the most is Hans Zimmer or Wolfgang Puck. If Marco could be anyone, he would want to take over Anthony Bourdain’s old job and travel the world eating amazing food and meeting extraordinary people.
