This month, we get to know Eddy Kovac, a Premium Plus Technician here at Platte River Networks. Eddy has been with us for 11 months and supports the day-to-day IT needs of one of PRN’s manufacturing clients. His favorite part of the job is that he is able to be entrenched in the client’s environment and learn everything he can about the client’s setup.
Prior to joining the PRN team, Eddy worked in IT for 12 years as a way to support himself after semi-retiring from his career as a dance educator and choreographer.
Eddy was born in California but grew up in the Denver area. He moved back to California after high school and has always considered San Luis Obispo his second home. He says his wife is the luckiest person as he’s never seen her lose money at a casino. His son is a 2nd degree Black Belt and instructor in Tang Su Doo and his daughter is an award-winning competitive dancer and superstar lacrosse player. They also have 3 dogs.
Eddy is happiest when he was surfing every day. He finds being on the ocean both freeing and amazing. He also really enjoys building things. His favorite book is the Art of War and his favorite movie is a tie between Saving Private Ryan and Forest Gump.
The person Eddy most admires is his step dad, who took on the responsibility of more kids than any man should. Eddy’s favorite mottos is, “Take can’t out of your vocabulary and you’ll be shocked at what you can do!”
Growing up, Eddy wanted to play for the NFL but says God had other plans and made him a dancer!
