Employee Spotlight: Brian Myers

Brian Myers is a Systems Engineer for Platte River Networks and has been with us for 3 years. Prior to joining PRN, Brian attended the US Navy Aviation School and was a plane captain for the US Navy Squadron VA-52. He was also an Access Control Systems Engineer at the Vandenberg Air Force missile launch site. Brian has been an IT Systems Engineer since 1999, and has never turned back. It’s a natural fit for him as he loves troubleshooting and making something perform to its full potential. At PRN, Brian engineers new and integrated systems and serves as an escalation point for all PRN technicians and systems specialists. He enjoys building well-designed systems and deploying them successfully.

Brian was born in Kansas City, but grew up In Burlington Ontario Canada. He has an adopted pound dog, Sierra, that has been with him for 13 years. Besides being a Systems Engineer, Brian also loves cars. His hobbies include owning endurance sports car racing teams and restoring and collecting European sports cars such as Ferraris and Porsches. He is even in the process of building a 7000 sq. ft. warehouse to live in that has enough room for a two story loft and a car collection. He started drawing the designs for it 10 years ago. In fact, he is happiest in any car, on any racetrack, anywhere in the world. Brian is currently living his childhood dream of owning and restoring high end sports cars. His favorite superhero is Iron Man, which he relates to easily because of their love for computers and cars.

When asked about the person he most admires, Brian chose Simon Dolan, an entrepreneur who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans ProAm class in 2014 (a sports car race in endurance racing). Furthermore, if he could be anything or anyone, it would be a factory driver for Porsche Racing in the European Le Mans Series and drive at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Brian lives by the motto,

Part of success in life, is pushing yourself harder than anybody else would expect
