Employee Spotlight – Brian Myers

This month we get to know Brian Myers, the System Administrator for the Support Services department at Applied Tech, where he has worked for 8 years. In his role, Brian is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues that other members of the team are unable to fix. Prior to joining Applied Tech, Brian held several other positions including US Navy – A6E Intruder Aircraft Mechanic, Automated Security Engineer, and IT Engineer.

Brian enjoys the challenge of finding solutions to complex problems, which he finds rewarding. He works as a systems administrator in our Escalations Department, dedicated to resolving the most challenging issues for our customers. Brian believes that this new department will benefit both Applied Tech and its customers by allowing his team to accumulate a vast knowledge base of systems and customer infrastructure.

Brian was born in Kansas City, MO, but grew up in Toronto, Canada. In his free time, Brian enjoys working on and collecting exotic sports cars. For three years, he was an amateur race car driver and team owner.

Brian’s favorite book is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and his favorite movie is Ghost in the Shell. He has a former stray cat named Stubby, who has half a tail. His favorite superhero is Iron Man, and he most admires Elon Musk.

Brian’s motto is “Start with a list, and go from there.” As a child, Brian aspired to be like Sonny Crockett from Miami Vice. Brian is happiest when he is on a race track, in any kind of car. If he could be anything, Brian would be a Formula 1 Ferrari factory race driver.

We enjoyed getting to know Brian a little more and are happy to have him on the Applied Tech team!
