Crypto Ransomware is a type of malicious software (malware) that infects a computer and restricts access to it until a ransom is paid to unlock it. “I cannot stress enough to the importance of good, regular backups and up-to-date AV”, says Elon Grad, Platte’s IOC Support Manager. The newest version of Crypto even detects and deletes Shadow Copy files. In November 2015 the developers of CryptoWall released a new version that is now called CryptoWall 4.0.
