QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of inside or outside sales and/or business development experience in conjunction with  strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Existing relationship with Milwaukee companies, government agencies, education facilities a plus
  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in related field advantageous

Skills:

  • Must exude a positive, confident, attitude and maintain a client focused mind-set
  • Aggressive and persistent in generating new business opportunities
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and public speaking (presentation)

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Microsoft Communications (Lync/Voice) Systems Specialist to install and configure Microsoft Lync communication solutions for a variety of customers.  The ideal candidate would be a technical consultant with expertise in the area of Microsoft Lync 2013 Enterprise Voice, Exchange 2010/2013, and Office 365 migrations as well as a solid understanding of Active Directory, Routing, and Switching. This role would require experience in the consulting, implementation, and support of these technologies.

Desired Skills & Experience:
Expertise  in the Microsoft Communications Technologies. Strong understanding of Microsoft Core Infrastructure. Strong understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP sub netting, voice policies, trunking, routing, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, load balancers. Expertise in Enterprise Voice (SIP, Media Gateways, VoIP, H.323, MGCP, PBX, QoS, PRI). Experience in voice/video/data networking, telephony management and voice applications. Practical experience with design, configuration and support of call routing, local survivability, and voicemail.  Experience working with Exchange Unified Messaging and/or other UM/UC technologies (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, ShoreTel, NoreTel, Mitel).

  • Candidate should have prior experience in engineering/scoping, installing complex projects
  • Ideally candidate would possess a certification in Microsoft Communications (Lync 2013) which will be required within 6 months of employment

Job Description

Applied Tech, one of the area’s fastest growing companies,  is looking for a Level 3 NOC Support Tech to join our growing team! Our L3 NOC Techs have daily opportunities to work with the latest technology while providing excellent customer service and solving problems. We are looking for someone that is self-motivated and will bring a lot of energy to this position.

As an L3 NOC Tech most of the support of our customer environments will be done remotely. We utilize an industry leading RMM tool in order to do this as efficiently as possilble, while giving us great insight into our customer’s networks. Some onsite visits will also be required to install new equipment, perform basic network assessments, and to resolve issues that can’t be effectively resolved remotely.

On a given day an L3 NOC Tech may be working on cases related to Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Windows Server administration, Lync 2013, VMware and Hyper-V HA Clusters, HP SANs, routing and switching (primarily HP ProCurve and WatchGuard), along with escalated cases from the L2 NOC team members. This is a great opportunity to become stronger in areas you may already be familiar with, while gaining technical skills in new areas as well.

 

Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience supporting and troubleshooting small to medium sized Microsoft Windows networks, both from the server and the network infrastructure side. The two most important skills we look for are the ability to provide excellent customer service even during high-pressure situations, and a logical approach to troubleshooting. Experience with at least some of the technologies listed under the job description above is required, and there will be a technical portion of the interview process.

The ability to follow documented processes and integrate well with other team members is also critical to  success in this role. You will be assigned to a team consisting of a Team lead and other L2 and L3 NOC techs, and will support a designated sub-set of our managed services customers. The benefit to this structure is that you will get to know your assigned customer environments better, and have a team made up of other great techs with strengths in many different technical areas to collaborate with.

Job Description

Applied Tech is looking for a mid-level NOC Technician to provide proactive and reactive remote support to clients for technical issues, including identification and execution of specific upgrades to customer systems. Candidates must have in depth knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems as well as a basic understanding of Windows Server 2003/2008. MCP required and MCSA/MCSE/MCITP preferred. This position will work out of our Waukesha office.

The following job breakdowns will apply:

– Remote NOC Support: 80%

– Onsite Break/Fix: 15%

– Miscellaneous/other: 5%

Responsibilities:

– Network Operations Center support: Review assigned and unassigned service requests daily, work the service requests to successful resolution following defined standards. When necessary, escalate to higher level support professionals, follow up and provide status updates to clients and ensure data pertaining to the status of service requests are entered into our ticketing system.

– Perform planned network and system changes and upgrades.

– Provide technology support: Install switches, firewalls, routers, PCs, and wireless devices. Perform proactive maintenance on these devices and troubleshoot hardware/software problems.

– Continuously strive to meet and exceed defined NOC SLAs.

– Commitment to outstanding customer service: Provide the highest possible level of service to our customers on a daily basis, and make recommendations for improving our service and efficiencies when identified.

Qualifications:

– 2-3 years of experience providing Desktop Support in a complex networking environment, ideally in a Managed Services or Consulting environment.

– Post Secondary College education (Certificate/Diploma) in IT, Computer Science or equivalent preferred.

-Microsoft certified (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or MCITP obtained or updated in the last 2 years)

– Basic knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructure (current versions of SQL, Exchange, IIS, Active Directory) maintenance and troubleshooting.

– Basic knowledge of server and storage hardware, Internet protocols and technologies, including network hardware concepts (firewalls, routers, load balancers, etc)

-Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

-Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients, third parties and other internal staff.

-Superior communication skills.

– Must possess good problem solving and decision making skills.

Description
